That’s my new mantra for self-discipline. Most people go with the cliché affirmations like “I can do it” and “I got this” and “I’m worth it”. I like to tell those people “No you can’t. No you don’t. No you’re not.” You see, I like saying “No”, so this new mantra should work out well for me.
Seriously though, I’ve reached the pinnacle of “Oh my god, how did this happen…”. I weigh more now than I have in nearly 20 years. And I can’t blame it on middle-aged metabolism either. My food intake looks like the menu for a frat party. Somewhere along the way, the SDNS (self-discipline navigation system) shorted out, and I just kept driving.
Okay, enough self-loathing. It’s time for nerd news.
I recently designed a t-shirt to commemorate my love of space… and pay tribute to my introvert nature. It’s called “I Need Space”.
See what I did there?
You know you want one. Go buy one… now.
The Kickstarter campaign for volume #4 of By the Time I Get to Dallas is getting ready to launch. I’m so friggin’ excited! I made a cameo in book #2, and I’ll be making another appearance in book #4. Anyway, if you’re into indie comics, you should show your support by backing this awesome story.
Speaking of awesome stories (brilliant segue), I’ve currently written 3000+ words of my book. My goal is to have it completed, edited, and published by the end of the year.
Until next time, ‘ver heil ok sæl’.
