Last night was the first “Hell No” of the season. Luckily, it didn’t last as long nor involve as many people as in previous years, which is a good thing because my tolerance of alcohol is starting to diminish.

To celebrate (and tolerate) the occasion, I inaugurated my Viking drinking horn I purchased specifically for these events. It’s made from genuine ox horn (sustainably and humanely sourced).

Skål!

This last week was rather uneventful — not that I’m complaining. And although I’m not a fan of the holidays, I do appreciate the uninterrupted time they give me to catch up on all the one-off projects and “to-do’s” that have gone undone during normal life hours. You see, while the normies (normal people) are spending their leisure watching the sports ball and napping, I take advantage of the blissful absence of calls/texts/emails that typically interrupt my day, and I get shit done.

Because that’s what I do. I drink coffee, and I get shit done. I am the doer of things.

My ‘lil sis has taken up painting rocks as a hobby. She does a really great job. She painted a Breaking Bad “Heisenburg” rock for my kiddo because he’s a fan (great parenting on my part), and I, of course, got a Captain America shield.

My Campfire Queen bought me a new Captain America coffee mug on her short trip to visit her nephew. That’s how I know she loves me. She caters to my nerdiness without any input (or begging) from me.

Lastly, there’s Spynn. The big panda. He was born on my son’s birthday in 2015. We’re fairly certain now that he has cancer. His health is steadily declining. And last night, he wanted to snuggle, which isn’t something he normally does.

Until next time, ‘ver heil ok sæl’.
